Why study 2nd Chronicles? The book of 2nd Chronicles is about the decline of true devotion to God amongst the royal leadership of Judah beginning with Solomon. The book is also about the benefits of seeking the Lord in all things and the consequences of forsaking Him. Those who seek the Lord are to do so and to obey and worship Him with wholeheartedness. 2nd Chronicles emphasizes the need for worshipping God with attitudes and actions that represent true repentance and belief in Him. Studying 1st Chronicles

Why study 1st Chronicles? The book of 1st Chronicles is about the benefits of seeking the Lord in all things and the consequences of forsaking Him. Those who seek the Lord are to do so and to obey and worship Him with wholeheartedness. 1st Chronicles emphasizes the loyalty of God to His covenants with Abraham and David. It is also about the results of demanding what the world wants and walking away from God. 1st Samuel relates the well-known story of David, the shepherd boy facing without fear and defeating the giant Goliath. The book also reveals that even though God may clearly lead believers into definite paths, the going will not always be easy and their will be many difficulties to overcome. Studying the Book of Judges

Why study the book of Judges? A study of Judges will reveal the startling truth about God’s chosen people. Although knowing about God, and witnessing many of God’s miraculous works, God’s people often forgot about God. They replaced worshipping God with the worship of idols. They refused to obey God’s commands about intermarriage with the Canaanites and other peoples. They fought against each other and almost snuffed out the small tribe of Benjamin. Were the Israelites any different than many who believe in God and in His Son, Jesus Christ today? Studying the Book of Joshua

Why study Joshua? The Book of Joshua reveals the faithfulness of God to His people whom He brought into the promised land. However, the fulfillment of the promises of God for the land was not automatic.  God required that His people be faithful to Him and worship Him alone. God required obedience to His covenant and all that he required. Those who were not obedient to God suffered setbacks, failures and many lost their lives.
